Our Citizens Auxiliary members have formed a Hobby Shed that is open to male and female members of the subbranch, auxiliary and community.
Several of our members have downsized their accommodation resulting in a loss of space for handcraft and repairs to small items of furniture. By donating their garage tools to the Hobby Shed, they can share their skills with other interested members and learn new skills without the need to invest in tools they may not use again in the future.
All of the electrical tools in our Hobby Shed are Tested & Tagged to ensure compliance and safety.
Timber and other items have been donated for the use of Hobby Shed members.
The only 2 rules that apply to the use of Hobby Shed equipment are:
• That nobody works alone.
• If you don’t know how to use something, ask someone who does.
The Hobby Shed produces clocks, glassware, mirrors and lights with some unique Defence inspired designs. They provide the perfect gift for that special occasion for someone who is or has served in the Defence Force or for those who support our veterans.
They also produce timber garden boxes that raise the garden to a height more comfortable for anyone to manage. These are very popular for those who enjoy their flower garden but can no longer kneel to care for it.
Come along and meet the Hobby Shed team Monday to Friday from 0900 to midday.
