The Pine Rivers – Returned Services League – Sub-Branch, was formed and received it’s charter on 28th October 1945, approximately 10 weeks after the completion of World War II.
The first president of the Sub-Branch was Mr Tom Gorringe, a WWII veteran, he met with 22 members in the “School of Arts Hall” at Petrie where the Sub-Branch would reside until 1954.
The purpose of the Sub-Branch is to provide and offer support to all past and currently serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their families, also including the families of serving members that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
As the Sub-Branch was, when it was first formed, it is run and governed by veteran’s, backed by a great team of volunteers that are committed to supporting the community and all the generations of past and current serving members and their families.
